The Group bolsters its role as a company that protects the most important winemaking regions in Italy

Loncon di Annone Veneto, 1 March 2024 – Le Tenute del Leone Alato, the viticultural hub managed by Leone Alato – the agri-food holding of the Generali Group – announces the acquisition of new premium vineyards in Piedmont, within the Colli Tortonesi area in the province of Alessandria. The acquisition of Vigneti Fassone, a winery renowned for producing Timorasso and Barbera wines, was recently formalized.

The introduction of the new hectares will expand the existing properties in the region, notably those of Bricco dei Guazzi. This further reinforces the role of the historic cellar acquired by the group in 1978—a small gem rooted in Monferrato, but with a wider vision of Piedmont.

Igor Boccardo, CEO of Leone Alato, commented on the operation: “This acquisition strengthens our presence in Piedmont. The investment in high-quality hectares, such as those of Vigneti Fassone in the Colli Tortonesi, reflects the strategy of the Leone Alato Group, which aims to increase sales by enhancing high-quality products, thanks to agricultural companies with a strong identity located in regions with the highest viticultural vocation”.
